Eric, that is a great tribute to your shipmates. War is horrible and I don’t think anyone who hasn’t served can quite grasp the whole thing. It is our young men who have to make very adult decisions to protect us at home. Many of you probably don’t know this but Eric had clean up duty for the men that didn’t live. Thank you Eric for that and I’m sure that changed your life forever. I am so thankful for all of the soldiers and yet sorry it needs to be done. Rich got Eric’s hat from the Iowa, treasures it, wears it all of the time and has many pictures with it on. I pray for these men very often and hope God’s will is for them to come home soon and well.
